As Mozillians there is a lot that we can do, and are doing, to support one another and the causes we care about. The climate crisis needs our attention. And our solidarity.
On April 22-24, 2020, we will join the #EarthDayLive campaign, raising awareness, rallying people, maintaining the pressure online. While we won’t be able to march with millions of people on the streets in light of the coronavirus pandemic, we are committed to maintaining the momentum.
Each day will have a specific focus, and Mozilla has prepared some calls to action you can share, or feel welcome to create your own.
Social media splash, April 22-24
April 22: focus on pledging individual actions
Earth Day Live will be suggesting new actions every hour, these will all be actions that you can take, right now and from your own home to continue our collective fight for the planet. From committing to vote, to contacting your representatives, to making diet changes.
To share tips on how to reduce your digital carbon footprint see here.
April 23: focus on collective action, keeping attention on environmental issues
Make your voice heard in the global digital surge by participating in the social media storm. We’re flooding digital platforms with messages of hope, optimism and action to keep environmental action front and center in our collective global conversation. For an idea of how collective action could transform the internet tour the Museum of the Fossilized Internet.
Join in from wherever you are with the hashtag #EarthDay2020 and #EarthDayLive.
April 24: focus on “greening out” your online presence, join the livestream
There’ll be entertainers and thought leaders across the climate movement on the Earth Day Live livestream. Join us for video messages from former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, actor and activist Zac Efron, former UN climate chief Christiana Figueres, media personality Van Jones, Grammy Award-winning musician Ricky Kej, former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and more. Have your website and social media presence greened out: an Earth Day Live banner is available for this.
