It was 29 March 1994 when the first connection to the global network was established in the Philippines, opening up a new era of communication, information dissemination, and technological advancement. Since then, the Internet has become an integral part of Filipino society, transforming the way people live, work, and interact with each other. Over the years, the Internet infrastructure in the Philippines has significantly improved, making it more accessible and affordable to a larger segment of the population. As we celebrate the 29th anniversary of the Internet in the Philippines this month, we reflect on the tremendous impact that the Internet has had on our lives and look forward to the exciting possibilities that it will bring in the years to come.

For this month’s Mozilla Philippines Community (MozillaPH) Online Meetup, we will talk to Dean Aris Ignacio, the Vice-President for Technology at Intenet Society – Philippines Chapter. He is also the Dean of Southville International School and Colleges, as well as the Vice-Chair of APRALO at ICANN ALAC.
