Become a Beta Testing BugHunter
Mozilla is launching a NEW Android web browser and we need your help to get it ready for the free and open web. We’re asking YOU to become a fearless beta tester and BUG HUNTER to gather with friends and family, install this brand new browser and test it until you can test no more
RESULTS: 8000 new installs, 533 bugs and about 3000 Daily Active Users
HOW TO BUG HUNT
Bug hunting is not for the faint of heart. It’s for people who LOVE technology and being the first person to have, use and try the newest thing.
Here’s how to become a BugHunting Hero:
- Install it!* Use it everyday
- Throw parties to find and file bugs
- Imagine and submit new feature requests
- Hold a crash party – whoever crashes the browser the most during the event wins!
- Be awesome! Get as many people to download this beta browser as you can!
How to test
Just Use It!
Go wild! Go free! Use the app in all the ways you want without the prerequisites set in the other steps. Open your local websites, open links from other apps and share them in social media, etc. Literally whatever you want.
Do some device and android testing
As this is an android app, things might go wrong on that side too. Try to use the app in the same time with others and to see how it behaves
Guide to filling great bugs
Step 1: reproduce
Try to reproduce the issue you encounter several times. If you don’t have personal data you are afraid to lose, delete the app data from settings and try again.
Step 2: give all detail
Please share in the bug entry all the details you can. Steps on how to reproduce it, what did you do when you encounter it, what version of android you are using and what device, etc.
Throw a Bug Hunting Event
You can gather with your local Mozillians and hold Bug Hunting events in your city.
Host a crash-party, a idea-a-thon, or a download contest. Just remember to keep your receipts, and look for a local Resources Rep that can submit a budget for you. You can expense up to 100 USD following these guidelines.
